Privacy Policy

The short version

BotAI is a static website. We do not have user accounts, server-side databases, or tracking beyond what is described below. The only personal data we may collect is your email address if you subscribe to our newsletter or submit a tool. Featured Listing payments are processed by Creem. We use affiliate links that may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you.

1. What we are

BotAI (botai.uno) is a curated directory of AI tools and tool stacks for indie developers. The site is statically generated — there is no server-side database, no user login, and no server that receives your personal data beyond the email forms described below.

2. Email collection

We may collect your email address in two scenarios:

• Newsletter subscription: If you enter your email in the newsletter signup form, it is sent to our email platform for the purpose of sending you weekly updates. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email.
• Tool submission: If you use the submit form, your email client opens with a pre-filled message to our inbox. The data goes directly to us, not through a third-party form processor.

We do not sell, rent, or share your email with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Featured Listing payments (Creem)

The $99 Featured Listing is sold through Creem, which acts as the Merchant of Record. This means:

• Creem, not BotAI, processes your payment and handles taxes (VAT, GST, sales tax).
• BotAI never receives, stores, or sees your credit card details.
• We receive only the email address and order identifier needed to process your listing.

4. Affiliate links

Some tool links on BotAI are affiliate links, marked with tracking parameters (such as ?ref=botai). If you sign up for a tool through an affiliate link, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not influence our tool ratings, reviews, or editorial decisions. Every tool is evaluated on its own merits.

5. Cookies and analytics

BotAI does not currently use tracking cookies, Google Analytics, or advertising scripts. The site is a static export with no client-side tracking beyond:

• Standard browser requests (IP address visible to our hosting provider, Vercel).
• Any analytics we may add in the future will be disclosed on this page before activation.

6. Third-party services

• Vercel: Website hosting and CDN delivery.
• Creem: Payment processing for Featured Listings (Merchant of Record).
• Google Favicons API: Fetches tool icons for display. No personal data is sent.
• beehiiv (when configured): Newsletter email delivery. Your email is passed to beehiiv only if you explicitly subscribe.

7. Data retention

• Newsletter emails: Retained by our email platform until you unsubscribe.
• Tool submissions: Processed via email; retained in our inbox for as long as needed to review and respond.
• Payment records: Held by Creem as Merchant of Record, per their retention policy.

8. Your rights (GDPR, CCPA)

If you are in the EU (GDPR), UK (UK GDPR), California (CCPA/CPRA), or another jurisdiction with similar privacy rights, you may request access, correction, deletion, or portability of your personal data. To exercise any right, email hello@botai.uno. We respond within 30 days.

We do not sell your personal information. CCPA opt-out is not required because no sale occurs.

9. Children's privacy

BotAI is not directed to children under 13 (under 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
